Is paying a company to hire me acceptable?

A company offered to put me to work if I pay them a thousand dollars to prove that I'll work for them at least 2 years.

Is this an acceptable practice in the trucking industry?

I never heard it mentioned during my driver training.

Confused but ready to work

Run!

You've gotta be kidding! I've never heard of a company asking to be PAID to hire you. Run away! Run fast! And don't look back!

Run and Run fast

Whoever it is must have sized you up as someone who fell off the back of a truck and landed on your head.

Well, he sized you up wrong because you came looking for an answer. I'd say you are pretty smart to ask around.

I would say run the other way and run fast but don't trip. They are out to poke you and enjoy doing it!

The next thing you know there will be some other expense you'll need to pay and then another expense all the way to the poor house. You'll be driving for free.

There are too many companies out there needing drivers to sign up with that outfit.
